  • This is Geography Awareness Week, a time to celebrate and bring attention to the subject of Geography — because it’s a great big world out there, and we should all know about it! Many of your Social Studies teachers will be announcing upcoming classroom and team contests — so be sure to get in on the fun. And of course — the annual Geography Bee is just around the corner, so study up! Good luck, and happy Geography Awareness Week!!
  • The 8th grade robotics team is working to bring awareness to “Animal Allies” — and the MILLIONS of small mammals in need of adoption, and good homes.  Please stay tuned for this important Wolf-Bot PSA.
  • The WMS girls soccer team dominated Jefferson Middle yesterday — cruising to an 8 to zero victory. Goalie Allie H. was PERFECT on the day to preserve the shutout, and SIX different players scored goals. Be sure to root on your team in their next home game– TOMORROW after school versus Gunston. Way to go, Lady Wolves! [clap]
  • Good Morning Anime Lovers! The Anime Club will NOT be meeting on Thursday after-school. Again, there will be NO Anime meeting tomorrow. But don’t forget about the upcoming ANIME COSTUME PARTY next Monday!
  • It’s Back! The WMS Model UN CLUB is hosting a “Pizza Sale Fundraiser” — this FRIDAY after school. Pizza slices and cookies will be available in the Main Lobby and by Cafeteria for just 2-dollars. All money raised will go to support the Model UN and their upcoming conferences. Come hungry!
  • Attention 8th graders! Yorktown High School’s award-winning “Winter Colorguard” is seeking new members for the upcoming season. Come to the open house to learn more — FRIDAY evening at Yorktown in room 183. Contact Mr. Bersh at YHS for more information, or go to yorktownband.org.
  • Just two days remains in the annual PTA FUNdraiser! To make a donation, please go to the “WMS PTA” link on the WMS homepage, then select “No Frills Fundraiser.” All contributions go towards school activities and events. And remember — everyone who donates will be entered into the “Donut Hero” drawing!
  • Donate to Leo Club’s Annual Coat Drive for the Homeless! Collection boxes are located in the library, and students are encouraged donate new or gently-used coats, scarves, gloves and socks. YOUR HELP can make all the difference to a person-in-need this winter!!
