  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  Not even the RAIN could stop the WMS girls Soccer Team on Thursday, as the Wolves got their season started with a big WIN over Jefferson Middle School — 1 to nothing.  The winning goal was scored by 8th grader Moira F. on a penalty kick, and a pair of goalies shared the shutout — 8th grader Sophie D. and 7th grader Julia L.
    .
Congrats to the entire team on the victory.  Way to go, soccer wolves! [clap]. Girls soccer  is back in action this THURSDAY with a game at Kenmore.  Let’s root them on to victory, and be a part of the PRIDE!!

  • Now that Halloween is over — chances are you’ve got a LOT of leftover candy. So why not give donate it to a good cause?! The WMS Kindness Club is collecting UNOPENED Halloween candy for “Operation Gratitude” — a charitable organization that sends care packages to Veterans, First Responders, and Deployed Troops.
    .
But TODAY is your LAST DAY to give.  Just drop off your candy in the collection bins in the main office — and bring some “sweet” kindness to those who deserve it most!

  • The 1st quarter is officially OVER, and you know what that means — it’s almost time for the 1st quarter WOLF PAW DRAWING! That’s right — this FRIDAY during WOLF TIME, YOU could be the winner of some amazing gifts and prizes. They’re all on display in the library showcase, so come take a look.
    .
But to be eligible, you must turn-in your Wolf Paws to the grade level boxes located by the cafeteria no later than THURSDAY at lunch.  Again, you only have until THURSDAY to submit your Paws for the drawing, which is on Friday.  Good luck, wolves!!
    .
  • And now for an important announcement from our school librarians!  Do you have any OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS???  If you checked out a book from the school library in September or October — then it’s probably about time to turn it back in.  Teachers will be passing out overdue notices in TA this week — and students are asked to PLEASE look in your lockers and at home for any long lost library books.
    .
  • How do YOU get around town?  The Mobile Commuter Store will be visiting Williamsburg TODAY during all grade level lunches.  You’ll be able to purchase “Student SmartTrip Cards” — which provide for discounted rides on ART buses, Metrobus, and Metrorail.  The cards are just 2-dollars to buy — and then you can charge it with as much money as you’d like.  See Ms. Mays in the main office with any questions.
    .
  • Attention Model UN Club – There will be an important meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.  Participants will be strategizing for the upcoming GWMUN — AND will start planning for the annual WOLFMUN right here at WMS.  See Ms. Carlson with any questions.
