  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS music program continues to shine. Yesterday it was the band; but today, it’s all about the Choir.  An unprecedented 18 singers have been selected to represent our school at the 2018 APS Honors Choir — the most from ANY middle school in the county.  Now THAT is something to crow about!  Way to go, choir wolves!! [clap]
    .
  • And the good news just keeps on coming from the WMS sports program.  Yesterday, our student athletes pulled out a pair of victories against rival Kenmore.  First, Boys Soccer dominated the home field with a 5 to 2 win — and everybody got in on the action, as 5 different players scored goals:  Din H., Griffen G., Tony N., Tristan K., and as always the “Nate Dog”, Nate W.  Great game by all.  Way to go, soccer wolves!  [clap]
    .
  • And not to be outdone — the girls basketball team also won big, taking down Kenmore by a final score of 27 to 16.  It was a true team effort, with every player making a big impact on the game.  Their record now stands at 2 and 0 — as the team prepares for its first home game of the season on Thursday afternoon.  Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]

  • Attention WMS Model UN Club! There will be a meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202. Participants will be finishing preparations for the upcoming GW MUN conference — and will be starting the application process for William and Mary MUN. See Ms. Carlson with any questions.
    .
  • Sister Circle will be meeting on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 233. There will be a special guest speaker — and pizza! — so participants are asked to get there as quickly as possible. New members are encouraged to come, too, for some girl talk, fun and food. See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • Take down, reversal, PIN!  The WMS Wrestling team is gearing-up for a new season.  Interested athletes are invited to an informational meeting next MONDAY during ASP 1 in the Library.  Learn all about the team, practice, and upcoming matches.  Remember that you must have a physical on file to participate.  See Coach Hicks with any questions.
    .
  • Did you miss Picture Day last month — or did your picture not turn out so well?  Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is next TUESDAY in the Auditorium during TA and all grade-level PE classes. Here’s what to do:  if you haven’t taken a picture yet this year, then print a “Retake Form” from the WMS website and bring it with you.  OR if you’d like a NEW picture, then you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange.  And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Ms. Argenal in the main office with any questions.  Say cheese!
    .
  • Just ONE DAY remains in the WMS Kindness Club’s “Pennies for Puerto Rico Fundraiser” — and the coins just keep on coming.  All money raised will go to help the victims of Hurricane Maria. And to make it a little more interesting, whichever grade gets the most “positive points” wins bragging rights as the dopest do-gooders in school!
    .
The Kindness Club has already started counting the coins — and as of right now, the 6th grade is in the lead by nearly 3-THOUSAND points! But it’s not over yet — there’s still time to “break the bank.”  So let’s see who can “make the most change” for Puerto Rico.  Because no matter which grade gets the most points, Puerto Rico still wins!  See Ms. Schaefer, Mr. Johnson, or Ms. Zeller with any questions.
