  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  There’s BIG NEWS coming out of the WMS music program.  A record 15 students from the 6th grade band auditioned for the 2018 APS Junior Honors Band this year, and ALL 15 were chosen to participate — giving WMS the HIGHEST REPRESENTATION of any APS school in this very select group.  Way to go, 6th grade musical wolves!! [clap]
    .
And the good news just keeps coming: an astounding “23” 7th and 8th graders from Williamsburg successfully auditioned for the 2018 APS Honors Band — marking the 7th consecutive year that WMS had the highest representation in this exclusive troupe.  Congratulations to Mr. Woodson and everyone in our Band program for playing to such a high level — year in and year out.  Way to go, 7th and 8th grade musical wolves!! [clap]  See these amazing musicians for yourself — at the Winter Band Concert next THURSDAY at 7 p.m. in the WMS auditorium.  It’s a show you’ve got to see to believe!

  • And let’s keep the Wolf Pack Pride going for our WMS sports program.  The Girls Basketball team travels to Kenmore Middle School this afternoon for a match on the hard court, while the Boys Soccer team will be hosting Kenmore on our home field.  So let’s pack the stands and the sidelines, and root them on to victory.  Go get ’em, sporty wolves!!

  • Attention WMS Model UN Club! There will be a meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.  Participants will be finishing preparations for the upcoming GW MUN conference — and will be starting the application process for William and Mary MUN. See Ms. Carlson with any questions.
    .
  • The Kindness Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP1 in room 134.  Participants will be brainstorming ideas and strategies for spreading kindness throughout WMS and the surrounding community. New and old members are welcome! See Ms. Schaefer with any questions.
    .
  • Just a few days remain for the the Pennies for Puerto Rico Fundraiser — sponsored by the WMS Kindness Club! All money raised will go to help the victims of Hurricane Maria. And to make it a little more interesting, whichever grade gets the most “positive points” wins bragging rights as the dopest do-gooders in school!  But no matter which grade gets the most points, Puerto Rico still wins! So break out your piggy bank and let’s see who can “make the most change” for Puerto Rico! See Ms. Schaefer, Mr. Johnson, or Ms. Zeller with any questions.

  • Did you miss Picture Day last month — or did your picture not turn out so well?  Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is next TUESDAY in the Auditorium during TA and all grade-level PE classes. Here’s what to do:  if you haven’t taken a picture yet this year, then print a “Retake Form” from the WMS website and bring it with you.  OR if you’d like a NEW picture, then you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange.  And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Ms. Argenal in the main office with any questions.  Say cheese!
