  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • If you participate in a club or after school program here at Williamsburg — then we’ve got a very important announcement for YOU. The WMS Yearbook will be taking pictures of all WMS groups and activities over the next few weeks. First up — all TAB members in grades 6, 7, and 8 are reminded to go to the Library this morning IMMEDIATELY following the Morning Announcements for a whole group TAB photo.  Again, the TAB picture is TODAY during TA. And then, next MONDAY during ASP 1 will be Wolfbots Robotics, the Making Movies Club, the Dance Club, and the Kindness Club. Members of those clubs should plan to get there ASAP so they’re not left out of the picture! Stay tuned for more information about additional Yearbook club pictures coming soon.

  • Calling all scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians!! The Virginia Junior Academy of Science — or VJAS, for short — is gearing up for 2020. VJAS is a Statewide “STEM” Competition for 7th and 8th graders. For information about how to participate, please come to the interest meeting this FRIDAY in room 115 — 8th graders during Wolf Time, and 7th graders during lunch. See Ms. Warden with any questions.
    .
  • The 7th grade seminar for the Citizenship Portfolio has been rescheduled — it will now be held this FRIDAY during the 7th grade lunch period.  All 7th graders who signed-up are asked to get your lunch and iPad and proceed as quickly as possible to your assigned American Studies classroom on Friday so the seminar can get started.  Mr. Feeney, Mr. McDermott, and Mr. Peacock look forward to seeing you there!  If you have any other questions, please see your instructor.
    .
  • Calling all Best Buddies! The Best Buddies field trip to the International Spy Museum is scheduled for December 4th — but members are reminded to turn-in your permission slips by November 20th at-the-latest in order to participate. The field trip is certain to be a blast — so you won’t want to miss it. See Ms. Parris with any questions. Thanks, buddy!!
    .
  • Hey, tennis players!  Have you returned your uniform?  This is your FINAL REMINDER to turn-in your CLEANED and FOLDED WMS tennis team shirt.  See Coach Seeger with any questions or issues.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS boys soccer team traveled to Jefferson Middle School on a cold and windy day yesterday — but they came out ON FIRE and took the game — 3 to 1.  Kamil A., Jake O., and Caleb L. each scored for the Wolves — and the tough defense made it stand up.  Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap].
    .
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the girls basketball team — who defeated Jefferson Middle School on the road yesterday — 44 to 39.   Helene L. made three 3-pointers, and Piper O. led all scorers with 18 points. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]. Girls basketball AND boys soccer play their next games TOMORROW at home — both taking on Dorothy Hamm Middle School.  Students and staff are invited to come on out, root them on to victory, and be a part of the pride!!
    .
  • And finally today — teachers and staff here at WMS work hard every single day to make our school — and its students — the very best they can be. But in your opinion — does one teacher “stand out” from all the rest?  Arlington Public Schools is now accepting nominations for the Williamsburg Teacher of the Year.  Students and staff are encouraged to make a nomination — just  download a form from the WMS website.  Then print, complete, and turn-in your entry by this FRIDAY in order to be considered.  Again, Teacher of the Year nominations must be received by this FRIDAY.
