  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Girls Soccer team cruised to victory over Jefferson yesterday, shutting them out 7 to zero.  Five different players got in on the scoring, including 8th graders Shay M. and Ellie S. with TWO goals apiece!  Don’t miss the LAST GAME of the season next TUESDAY at home against Swanson, as the Wolves angle for their second consecutive County Championship.  Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap]

  • A reminder to all students who stay after school — you MUST report to your ASP 1 activity IMMEDIATELY following the final bell.  Students will NOT be allowed to “roam the halls.”  And if you leave the building — even just to the bus loop — you will NOT be allowed back inside.  See your grade level administrator with any questions.

  • Latinas Leading Tomorrow — otherwise known as the LLT — will be holding its first meeting of the year on THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 214. Members and allies are encouraged to come and join the discussion! See Ms. Winter with any questions.

  • The WMS Model UN Club will be meeting this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202 for both new and returning members.  See Ms. Carlson with any questions.

  • The Best Buddies Club will have its first meeting on FRIDAY during WOLF TIME in room 108. This inspirational club is your chance to really make a difference in our school — and with our amazing kids. Just get a pass from your TA teacher, then come on down and join the fun and games.   • Let’s DANCE!! The WMS dance team is recruiting performers for the new year. Participants will perform a range of dancing styles to the best beats around, and will even get to choreograph some of the dance routines themselves. For more information or to sign up, come to the informational meeting next MONDAY during ASP 1 in the Library. See Ms. Smalfelt with any questions — and come ready to dance!

  • Hey 7th grade!  Are you ready to party?!  The FALL CARNIVAL DANCE will be rocking-out next TUESDAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria! There will be a DJ, photo booth, snow cone machine, popcorn, and a even a raffle with awesome prizes!  So come on out a BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!

  • How would you like to be featured in a special section of the yearbook this year?  From now until the end of October, the WMS yearbook is accepting pictures for both its “Summer Vacation” and “Now & Then” sections of its annual publication.  If you’ve got some fun pics, just email them to elizabeth.briones@apsva.us or bring them down to room 136.  See Ms. Briones with any questions.

  • SOCKTOBER has officially begun!  The WMS Kindness Club encourages everyone to donate socks, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, jackets and blankets to help the homeless in Arlington this winter. Just drop your items in your TA donation box to participate. And the TA in each grade with the most donations wins a TA breakfast! So be kind, and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

  • Listen up, Wolves! That grungy old sweatshirt you’re wearing has GOT to go. It’s time to show your Wolf Pack Pride in STYLE.  For a limited time only, you can order from a FIERCE new collection of Spirit Wear — including a hoodie sweat shirt, sweat pants, and long sleeve ‘T.’  Just get an order form from the WMS PE Department, or download a copy from the WMS website.  Orders must be received by next MONDAY, so act fast!

  • As we continue our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students in the lunchroom will be treated to a mix of Bachata and Merengue music today.  Both originated in the Domincan Republic, but have since gained fame throughout the Americas, including popular singers like Prince Royce and Romeo Santos. Remember — Hispanic Heritage is American Heritage!!
