  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  Thank you to all of our students and staff who wore the color ORANGE today in support of “Bullying Prevention Month.”  Each of you is showing your commitment to being an “Up-Stander” — which means standing up to bullying wherever and whenever it occurs.  There’s more of US than there are of them — so let’s keep standing up to bullies all year long, and make our shared community a better place.  Way to go, upstanding wolves!! [clap]

  • Have you ever been “DRESS CODED?”  Think the current dress code is violating your Freedom of Speech? Or perhaps it targets some groups more than others?  If you’d like to play a role in updating the Dress Code, then join the WMS Dress Code Committee — holding its first meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 201.  See Ms. Kenney or 7th grader Mary Francis for more information.  YOU have a voice in this school — so make yourselves heard, Williamsburg!!
    .
  • Enjoy learning about the world, its people and places? Want to improve your community? Well, you can do it all with GEOGRAPHY! Be a part of the WMS Geo Club — meeting TODAY, and every Monday, during ASP1 in room WW9. See Mr. Miller with any questions.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th. Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Wielechoski in the office with any questions.
    .
  • And finally this morning — Today begins our school-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which recognizes the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. All week long, WMS will be presenting a series of events and contests about Hispanic heritage — which we hope you’ll find both informative AND entertaining.
    .
First up, today during all grade-level lunches, everyone is invited to the school library — which will be featuring books by numerous Latino authors for you to enjoy. Mr. Valdez will also be on hand to lead a discussion about Latino literature.  To participate, just go to the cafeteria and get a pass — then enjoy the Hispanic Heritage Month “book” celebration in the library.  Hasta tarde!
    .
And now, stay tuned for this Hispanic Heritage Month video — celebrating the diversity that exists all around us — everyday — here in our shared community, and country.
