  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Thanks to all the students and staff who wore RED CLOTHING today — in support of Red Ribbon Week and keeping our community drug-free. The Red Ribbon celebration wraps-up tomorrow with SUPERHERO DAY — or, since it’s going to be Halloween, just come in costume and that’ll count, too!  Take the pledge to live a drug-free life — and BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!!
    .
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the girls Ultimate Frisbee team — which played to a TIE in its first game of the season on Monday against Swanson Middle School.  The wolves were down early — 3 to nothing — but came roaring back down the stretch to even things up.  Veterans and new players alike played great defense and made some big throws when it counted. Way to go, ultimate wolves!! [clap]  Girls Ultimate is back in action TODAY against Kenmore and Dorothy Hamm.  Let’s get that first win, wolves!!

  • Halloween Costume Guidelines, 2019It’s almost time for Halloween!  Students and staff are encouraged to dress up in your best costume for the occasion. However, there are some important guidelines that you need to follow.  Basically, costumes must conform to the WMS dress code, not offend anyone, no weapons, no masks, nothing inappropriate — and everything else you see on your screen. And if you’re not sure — err on the side of caution and DON’T WEAR IT!  See your grade-level Assistant Principal with any questions. Thanks for understanding, and have a Happy Halloween, wolves!
    .
  • And if you DO dress up — you could also win some amazing PRIZES!  The PE department will be hosting its annual Halloween Costume Contest in the gym — this Thursday during all Health and PE classes.  And elective teachers are welcome to bring your students, too!  Costumes MUST adhere to the WMS costume guidelines, and masks and props may ONLY be worn during the contest itself — then be immediately returned to your locker.  Winners will be chosen by your peers.  GHOUL luck, Halloween wolves!!
    .
  • One more Halloween announcement for you today — and it’s about CANDY!  Once the trick-or-treating is over tomorrow night — chances are you’ll have a LOT of leftover candy. So why not donate it to a good cause?! The WMS Kindness Club is collecting UNOPENED Halloween candy for “Operation Gratitude” — a charitable organization that sends care packages to Veterans, First Responders, and Deployed Troops.
    .
To participate, just drop-off your candy in the donation bins located outside of each grade-level holding area — from this Friday through next Tuesday.  The Halloween Candy Donation Drive — Give what you can, and help spread kindness to others!
    .
  • And speaking of “kindness” — the WMS Kindness Club will be hosting its next meeting on MONDAY during ASP 1 in room 136.  All are welcome to join — new members and old — as we help to spread KINDNESS throughout our shared WMS community.  Monday’s meeting will be spent working on the Candy Donation Drive — and planning for other events throughout the year.  See Ms. Pugliese, Ms. Briones, or Mr. G with any questions.
    .
  • The deadline for the annual PTA Reflections Contest is TODAY. So this is your absolute LAST CHANCE to turn-in your project to the library submission box.  Again, all PTA Reflections projects must be submitted by the end of the day.
    .
  • The best sport teams all have one thing in common — they’ve got the best MANAGERS.  The WMS girls basketball team is looking for TWO motivated students to be the team managers this season.  Responsibilities would include running the clock, keeping score during games, and supporting the success of our student-athletes.  Games are after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in November. Interested managers are encouraged to contact Ms. Warden in room 115.
    .
  • And now for an important announcement for all WMS athletes who played Tennis, Boys Ultimate, or Girls Soccer this fall — please return your CLEAN and FOLDED uniform to your team’s coach as soon as possible.  Once again, all WMS uniforms should be turned-in by the end-of-the-week.  See your coach with any questions.
    .
  • PE Swag for the Fall season is on sale now — we’ve got hoodies — long sleeve ‘Ts’ — and of course, comfy sweatpants! Just complete the order form and return it to your PE teacher by next MONDAY, November 4th. Please do NOT bring your order form to the main office or drop it in a teacher’s mailboxes — forms must be physically HANDED-IN to your PE teacher. Don’t get left out in the cold — order your Fall PE gear TODAY and Be a Part of the PRIDE!
    .
  • And finally today — it was Game 6 of the World Series last night, and for the Washington Nationals — it was “do-or-die.”  WOLF-TV student-reporter Elijah D. is standing-by with the results.
    .
  • ELIJAH:  Hello, sports fans!  The Nationals are BACK, baby!  After 3 brutal losses at home over the weekend, the Nats came out like a team ON FIRE yesterday — getting a big “Curly W” on the road against the Astros by a score of 7 to 3.  Ace Stephen Strasburg pitched an absolute gem, and MVP-candidate Anthony Rendon broke it open with 5-RBIs.  And now, the stage is set for a “winner-takes-all” game-7 — TONIGHT in Houston at 8:07.  Let’s Finish the Fight, Nationals, and bring home that World Series trophy.  Let’s go NATS!!!!!
