  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  Congratulations to the WMS tennis team for SWEEPING the Arlington County singles tournament!  And get this — they boys and girls champions are SIBLINGS!  Maxik and Jacklynka S. each won their championship matches in convincing style — and the entire tennis team played an amazing season — bringing the A-game all year long.  Way to go, tennis wolves!! [clap] The end-of-year tennis team PIZZA PARTY will be coming soon — so stay tuned for more information.

  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the girls soccer team.  They closed out a tough season with a tough loss yesterday — dropping the finale 3 to 1 against Swanson.  A big highlight of the game was 7th grader Katie H’s great goal, assisted by 7th grader Meri S.  And the whole team fought hard from start to finish.  Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap]

  • Cross-over dribble — pump-fake — jump shot — nothing but NET! The WMS girls Basketball team is getting ready for the new season. The last day of tryouts is scheduled for MONDAY after school in the main gym. And don’t forget — you must have a physical on file to participate. See Mrs. Warden in room 115 with any questions. Good luck, ballers!!
    .
  • Are YOU ready to help make Williamsburg a KINDER place? The WMS Kindness Club will be hosting its first meeting of the year — next MONDAY during ASP 1 in room 136. Participants will work on a range of projects and activities throughout the year that “promote positivity” and “spark joy” in every member of our shared community. See Ms. Pugliese, Ms. Briones, or Mr. G with any questions. Be kind to one another, wolves!!
    .
  • Put on your shin guards and cleats, because it’s time to play soccer! Tryouts for the WMS boys soccer team will be NEXT WEEK after school. Here’s the schedule: 7th graders tryout on MONDAY; 6th graders on TUESDAY; and finally 8th graders next THURSDAY — all on the turf fields from 2:30 to 4. Come dressed and ready to play — and remember that you need a physical on-file to participate! Interested athletes should sign-up on the activity board outside of the cafeteria. See Mr. Witte with any questions.

  • Attention 6th and 7th graders — It’s time to GET DOWN and BOOOOOOOO-gie! Just in time for Halloween, the WMS Spook-tacular Dance Party is coming at you — courtesy of the WMS PTA. The 7th grade party is scheduled for next TUESDAY, October 22nd; and the 6th grade party is just one week later, TUESDAY, October 29th — both during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria — so you can still take the late bus home. There will be food, a DJ, dancing, games, raffles, prizes and more. And please — despite the Halloween theme — NO COSTUMES. Trick or Treat, wolves!!
    .
  • This is a reminder for everyone who’s been invited to join the College Bound Group.  The CBG Interest Meeting is scheduled for next TUESDAY during 8th grade lunch in the Wolf Den.  Come meet with the sponsors, meet some new friends, and get started on your journey to COLLEGE.  See Ms Edme or Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.”  Just pick up an application from the Library, and submit your project by October 28th.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the LATE bus. If you’re ever planning to take the LATE BUS after school — you MUST have a signed bus pass for both ASP1 and 2. If you do not have a pass — you will NOT be allowed to ride the late bus. Again — the pass must be SIGNED for both ASP1 and 2 in order to ride the Late Bus. See your grade-level administrator with any questions.
    .
  • And finally today — Tell your parents! Arena-style conferences are NEXT WEEK — Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and Friday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary, just come on in and have a chat. What could be better — your parents and teachers, alone in a room, talking about YOU.  Hooray for Parent-Teacher Conferences!!!
