  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS tennis team competed in the County Singles Tournament at Bluemont Park yesterday, and it ended in a Wolf Pack Championship!  Congratulations to the new Arlington County Singles champion — 7th grader Jacklynka S. — who won a great match in the finals against WMS teammate Eleni G.  Also playing a GREAT tourney was 6th grader Jaylei F. — who made it all the way to the semi finals in his first year on the team.  Way to go, tennis wolves!! [clap]

  • The tennis tournament continues TOMORROW for doubles.  Players are reminded to meet at the bus loop on THURSDAY at 11 a.m. for the ride over.  And for everyone on the tennis team is invited to the season-ending pizza party tomorrow during ASP 1 in Mr. Seeger’s room.  Be sure to bring your CLEAN team shirt and a few bucks for food.

  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS Kindness Club’s “Hurricane Relief Fundraiser!”   It’s up and running, and going strong!  All cash and check donations can be left in the donation boxes in each grade level holding area before TA.  And remember — whichever grade raises the most will be eligible for a TA drawing.  As of yesterday, the 7th grade has raised the most — but grades six and eight are right behind — so keep the donations coming!  Do your part for Hurricane Relief — because every penny counts.
    .
  • And there’s ANOTHER way you can help for Hurricane Relief, too — EAT MORE CAKE!  You heard me right.  The WMS Check-In Program will be holding a Hurricane Relief BAKE SALE this THURSDAY and FRIDAY after school, located in the main lobby and by the cafeteria.  All items are just a buck-or-two — and all money raised will be added to our Hurricane Relief Fundraiser total.  It’s “sweet relief” for the Hurricane!!
    .
  • Sister Circle will be hosting its first meeting of the year this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. All young women are welcome — new members and old, friends and allies. So come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • Lace ’em up, Wolf Pack!  It’s time to start the 2018 Girls Soccer Season!!  Tryouts will run all next week — 6th graders on MONDAY, 7th graders on TUESDAY, and 8th graders on THURSDAY — all from 2:50 to 4 on the turf field.  Athletes MUST have a physical on file to participate.  See Mr. Girard with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all theater-lovers! It’s time to choose the WMS Musical for this year! Interested actors, singers, and dancers are invited to the “selection” meeting next MONDAY during ASP 1 in the auditorium. See Mr. Brown with any questions.
    .
  • Attention 6th and 7th graders — It’s time to GET DOWN and BOOOOOOOO-gie!   Just in time for Halloween, the WMS Spook-tacular Skeleton Stomp is coming at you — courtesy of the WMS PTA.  The 7th grade party is scheduled for TUESDAY, October 23rd; and the 6th grade party is one week later, TUESDAY, October 30th — both during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria — so you can still take the late bus home. There will be food, a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, prizes and more. And please — despite the Halloween theme — NO COSTUMES.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Heroes Around Me.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 25th. Now go create something awesome!!
