  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Tennis Team will be representing our school this week at the Arlington County Championship Tournament — to be played at Bluemont Park.  The Doubles tourney is TODAY and the Singles will be on THURSDAY.  Participating players are reminded to meet at the bus loop this afternoon at 11:30 for the ride over.  Good luck, doubles wolves — bring home the gold!! [clap]

  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room WW 1 for its first meeting of the year. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, and perform many other math activities. It’s all math — all the time at Math Counts!! See Mr. Mencarini for more information.

  • Cross-over dribble — pump-fake — jump shot — nothing but NET!  The WMS girls Basketball team is getting ready for the new season.  Interested players are encouraged to sign-up by scanning the QR code on the pink flyers posted throughout the school. Tryouts are scheduled TODAY, THURSDAY, and next MONDAY — all after school in the main gym. And don’t forget — you must have a physical on file to participate. See Mrs. Warden in room 115 with any questions.  Good luck, ballers!!

  • You gotta SPIN it to WIN it!  Girls Ultimate Frisbee gets started with its first practice — TODAY after school in the main gym. All players of all skill levels are welcome to join.  Come be part of a fun and successful tradition. See Mr. Smo with any questions.

  • Put on your shin guards and cleats, because it’s time to play soccer! Tryouts for the WMS boys soccer team will be NEXT WEEK after school. Here’s the schedule: 7th graders tryout on MONDAY; 6th graders on TUESDAY; and finally 8th graders next THURSDAY — all on the turf fields from 2:30 to 4. Come dressed and ready to play — and remember that you need a physical on-file to participate! Interested athletes should sign-up on the activity board outside of the cafeteria.  See Mr. Witte with any questions.

  • Do you know why ACTORS enjoy their jobs so much?  Because all they do is PLAY!!  If YOU are ready to be a star —  then submit your best monologue, skit, or original film to the Annual PTA Reflections Contest!  This year’s theme is “Look Within.” Pick up a copy of the submission guidelines and an entry form today from the library. The deadline to submit your creation is October 28th.

  • Attention 6th and 7th graders — It’s time to GET DOWN and BOOOOOOOO-gie! Just in time for Halloween, the WMS Spook-tacular Dance Party is coming at you — courtesy of the WMS PTA. The 7th grade party is scheduled for next TUESDAY, October 22nd; and the 6th grade party is just one week later, TUESDAY, October 29th — both during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria — so you can still take the late bus home. There will be food, a DJ, dancing, games, raffles, prizes and more. And please — despite the Halloween theme — NO COSTUMES.  Trick or Treat, wolves!!
