  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Batter up!  The Yorktown High School Softball Team will be hosting an informational meeting for middle schoolers who might like to try-out for the Spring team — TODAY in room 262 at Yorktown right after school.  Meet the coach, veteran players, and get a head-start on the competition.  For more information — of if you’re unable to attend, please email Ms. Sutphin at heather.sutphin@apsva.us.

  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room WW 1 for its first meeting of the year. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, and perform many other math activities. It’s all math — all the time at Math Counts!!   • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th. Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!

  • A reminder to all students who signed up for Act-2 “Art” for this FALL- please attend informational meeting on THURSDAY right after school in room 127.  This will be the official sign up for the “Art” Act2 class.  See Mr. Skrzypek with any questions.

  • Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by this FRIDAY, October 4th.

  • One last thing — TA teachers are still collecting money for student agendas, which were distributed back during the first week of school. Students are asked to please TELL YOUR PARENTS to send in 7-dollars — either cash or check, made out to Williamsburg Middle School. See your TA teacher with any questions.
