  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Girls Ultimate team played a fierce game against Jefferson last Thursday — but fell just short, losing 5 to 3 on a cold and rainy day. But there was a significant MORAL victory — Williamsburg’s 6th grade line — including Reily, Elena, Korrina, Lucy, Amy, Anna, and Natalie — gave Jefferson’s bigger and more experienced 8th graders all they could handle — with unrelenting defense and several HIGHLIGHT plays.  It speaks to great things to come for this bunch.  Way to go, frisbee wolves!! [clap]

  • The WMS tennis team will be practicing TODAY after school.  Just meet at the bus loop for the walk over to Yorktown — and get ready for the big match-up with Kenmore on Tuesday!
    .
  • Want to make some music? The WMS Symphony Club will be hosting its first meeting of the year — TODAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the Band Room. This “melodious” group is composed of band, orchestra, and chorus members — and it’s open to EVERYONE with a love of music. So check it out! See Ms. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will be meet every TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room WW 1. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, and perform many other math activities. It’s all math — all the time at Math Counts!! See Mr. Mencarini for more information.
    .
  • The WMS Kindness Club will be meeting TOMORROW during ASP 1 in room 201. There’s a LOT to work on to get ready for this month’s activity.  All are welcome — new and old.  Any questions, please see Ms. Schaefer, Ms. Zeller or Mr. Johnson.
    .
  • Listen up, ballers! If you might be interested in tryout out for the girls basketball team this year, then come to the “open gym session” this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in the WMS gym.  Work on your skills, meet other players, and get some one-on-one instruction with the coach!  The complete open gym session schedule is posted by the cafeteria.  See Ms. Sutphin with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. The test is scheduled for November 6th at Wakefield High School — but you must register by this FRIDAY to participate. See your grade-level counselor or a HILT teacher for more information, or to sign-up.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Heroes Around Me.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 25th. Now go create something awesome!!
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
