  • The WILD WINTER WEATHER keeps rolling along.  Due to a Winter Storm Warning, all APS schools will be closing 2-hours early today — and we will be running on a modified schedule. Be sure to check with your TA teachers for class and lunch times. And a special note about Wolf Time — it will now be held at the END of the day, so please proceed directly to 1st period following the Morning Announcements.
    .
  • And with the early closure, this is a reminder that all after school activities, clubs, sports, and intramurals have been CANCELLED for today. Check-In will still be open until 4 p.m. — but all other students should head home immediately following the final bell this afternoon.  And looking ahead, be sure to check the school-cast for tomorrow morning — as conditions may be hazardous.
    .
  • And now for an important announcement for all 6th and 7th graders who will be attending the new Dorothy Hamm Middle School next year. Mrs. Smith — the school’s principal — will be hosting an assembly TODAY during Wolf Time in the auditorium. She’d like to meet her new students — and share some EXCITING information about the new school — including a discussion about school colors and the selection of a school mascot! TA teachers have a list of everyone who should attend. And once again, this Wolf Time assembly is at the END of the day today. And all students who are NOT attending the assembly should just return to their TA at 11:57.
    .
  • Today marks the FIRST DAY of the 3rd Quarter — which means we’re officially closer to the end than the beginning!  7th and 8th graders taking semester classes are reminded that their new electives begin today — so be sure to check your schedule and make sure you know where you’re going.  See your grade-level counselor with any questions.
    .
  • And now for an update on the WMS Spring Musical — “Alice in Wonderland, Junior!” Both the TECH and STAGE readings have been rescheduled for this THURSDAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the auditorium. This will be a COMBINED REHEARSAL for EVERYONE involved with the show. See Mr. Brown for more information or with any questions. Break a leg!
    .
  • And now for an important announcement for all students who are competing in the Virginia Junior Academy of Science — or VJAS, for short.  There will be a MANDATORY meeting on WEDNESDAY in room WW 22 during Wolf Time.  If you are not able to make it, please be sure to see Mrs. Warden as soon as possible.
    .
  • Attention 6th graders in the TAB Club!  There will be a special meeting TOMORROW at lunch in the library — ONLY for those 6th graders who have already signed up. Again, 6th grade TAB tomorrow is just for students who have registered for the event.  See Ms. Lord with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all 7th grade Journalism students from the 1st semester!  Don’t forget about this Friday’s “Screening Party” during lunch in the Library Classroom.  Just be sure to RSVP and bring 3-dollars by this THURSDAY — to guarantee there’s enough pizza for everyone!  See Mr. Schonfeld with any questions.
