  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • REVISED TA picture scheduleSmile for the camera! The 2020 Yearbook will be finishing up all TA class pictures this week. Here’s the rundown:  the remaining 7th grade TAs will be photographed TODAY — then all grade-level Make-ups and retakes will be shot on Thursday and Friday.
    .
The photographers will be arranging you into 2-lines for the picture… OR, if you’re feeling more imaginative — you’re encouraged to creatively stage and arrange yourself for the picture. Just be sure to practice your pose in advance — and make sure we can see everyone’s faces! See Mr. Schonfeld with any questions about TA pictures.
    .
  • Listen up, 8th graders!  Representatives from Yorktown High School will be coming to Williamsburg this week to discuss schedule and course options for next year.  All 8th graders who didn’t meet them yesterday will be getting their turn TODAY during your 5th period class.  It’s time to start planning for High School!  See Ms. Brenckle with any questions.
    .
  • Read any good books lately? The “Talk about Books” Club” — a.k.a. TAB — will be meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches in the library. So grab your grub and come take a look at these Totally Awesome Books!!
    .
  • The WMS Book Club will be discussing an award-winning book — “Harbor Me” by Jacqueline Woodson — TODAY during all grade-level lunches is room 110.  Interested students are asked to get a permission slip from Ms. Hogwood then come on over.  Even if you haven’t read the book yet, you’re still welcome to come and hear all about it!  See Ms. Edme with any questions.
    .
  • Math Counts has been CANCELLED for this afternoon — but meetings will resume next week at their normal time.  Once again, there is NO Math Counts today.
    .
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! If YOU’D like a career in STEM, enjoy building things, and like working with POWER TOOLS — then Mr. Dudek’s ACT 2 “Inventions” class is for you! This “hands-on” class is being offered for the 2nd semester — from February to June — and meets after school 2-days a week. The sign-up sheet is posted on the Activities Board by the cafeteria. See Mr. Dudek in room 129 for more information.
    .
  • Attention all musical theatre wolves!  Auditions for this year’s Spring musical — Mary Poppins, Jr. — are scheduled for next MONDAY and TUESDAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the auditorium.  Performers should be prepared to sing a song — even “Happy Birthday” would be just fine — and recite a nursery rhyme as part of your audition.   And even if you don’t want to perform ON stage — the production needs plenty of “backstage” help, too!  Stage crew sign-ups will also take place next week after school.  See Mr. Brown with any questions — and break a leg!!
    .
  • The WMS Check-In program will be hosting a fundraiser after school this week to help the victims of the Australian wildfires.  TODAY there will be a selection of chips and candy, and then on Thursday they’ll have PIZZA — all on sale outside of the cafeteria and in the main lobby!  All proceeds will go to the World Wildlife Foundation. So bring your money and your appetite — and support the Australian recovery!
