  • First up, we’ve got some special guests in the WOLF-TV studio today, with a special message about a special charity drive.
    .
Please welcome the Helping Hands Club!!
    —————————–
  • CORDELIA:  Hello, Wolf Pack!  I’m Cordelia!
    .
    ALEX: I’m Alex!
    .
    ROMAN: I’m Roman!
    .
LEO: And I’m Leo – and we’re here representing the WMS Helping Hands Club!
    .
CORDELIA: From now to February 3rd, the Helping Hands Club is hosting a food drive for AFAC – the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
    .
ALEX: Food insecurity – which means not having adequate food quality or access to enough food –  is a serious issue all around the world.  And it’s also a problem right here in Arlington.  But AFAC is dedicated to helping those in need by providing healthy meals to over 5-THOUSAND Arlington families every year!
    .
ROMAN: And YOU can help, too!  We’re collecting canned or boxed food donations.  We’ll take ANYTHING – but the most needed items are canned tuna, canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and boxes of cereal.
    .
LEO: We’re also having a friendly competition:  There will be food collection boxes in each grade-level hallway.  And whichever grade donates the most items will win a popsicle party during lunch!!
    .
CORDELIA: Please join us in lending a Helping Hand to Arlington families in need.
    .
ALEX: From now to February 3rd – Bring in your canned food!
    .
ROMAN: Bring in your boxed food!
    .
LEO: And be a part of the WOLF PACK PRIDE!!

  • Thanks, guys.  I hope that EVERYONE donates to your food drive. And now, back to the news!  Today we will be following the C-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an C-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • Believe it or not, but this FRIDAY is the last day of the 2nd Quarter! So be sure to check StudentVue and talk to your teachers about any missing assignments or make-up work.  Again, grades close at the end-of-the-week.
    .
  • And speaking of the end-of-the-quarter — the 2nd Quarter Wolf Paw Drawing will be this FRIDAY during TA. But to be eligible for a prize, you MUST turn in your Wolf Paws by lunchtime TODAY!  So stop dawdling and turn in your Wolf Paws!!
    .
  • Calling all artists!  Do you like to draw? Do you like to paint?  Do you like to build?  Do you like to sew?  Do you like to design with light and sound?  If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then Shrek, Jr. needs YOU!!
    .
The WMS Spring Musical is gearing up — but it needs a motivated “tech crew” to help organize and run the show.  Interested “techies” should sign-up using the QR code posted outside of room 228 by the Theater.  See Ms. Mac with any questions.
    .
  • And finally — hot dogs, salad, barbecue chicken, and sloppy joes!  There’s always something cooking in the school cafeteria.
    .
But where does the food actually come from, and is it good for you?  Student-reporter Sofia S. is “tracing it back” from the farm to the table.
    .
    Roll tape!!
