    .
  • An important reminder for all 6th graders on the WHEEL — Today is ROTATION DAY.  Be sure to go to your NEW exploratory class for period 6 or 7.  If you’re not sure where to go, just check with your previous exploratory teacher and they can direct you.  Have fun in class!!

  • Need help with Spanish? The Yorktown tutors are coming back — next TUESDAY during ASP 2 in room WW 12 with Senora Wilkenson. Get extra help with grammar, vocab, and everything you need to succeed! But the session will only take place if enough students attend, so be sure to sign-up with your Spanish teacher ahead of time. See your teacher or Senora Stewart with any questions. Hasta pronto!

  • The WMS Theater Department is preparing to premiere its winter production: “Cheaper By the Dozen” — a comedy about a family with TWELVE kids who live a CRAZY life.  Here’s the schedule, next TUESDAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the auditorium — the Act 2 Theater Arts class will be holding on open rehearsal. Students are invited to watch this “limited” performance for FREE!  And then, next THURSDAY and FRIDAY night at 7pm you can see the full-length production.  Tickets are just 5-dollars for adults, 3-dollars for students, 1-dollar for seniors, and it’s complementary for teachers and a guest. “Cheaper By the Dozen” will be a night to remember, so come out and enjoy the show!
    .
  • The WMS Kindness Club will be meeting next TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room 134. All are welcome to participate — new members and old — as they brainstorm ideas for the new year. See Ms. Schaefer, Ms. Zeller, or Mr. Johnson with any questions.
    .
  • And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
    .
  • And now for an important announcement from our school librarians:  It’s a new year, and we have a new OVERDUE BOOK total.  Right now, there are over 700 overdue books. Let me say that again:  700!!  That’s not good.  So beginning today, the library is instituting a new procedure — if you have 3 or more overdue books, you will NOT be allowed to borrow any additional titles until they’ve been returned.  So check your backpack, your locker, your classrooms, and under your bed at home, and BRING IN YOUR BOOKS!!!

  • Did you know that throwing away old electronics and batteries can cause hazardous materials to seep into the ground? It’s true! But the WMS Earth Club has a solution: an Electronics Recycling Drive!  Stay tuned for more information on how YOU can help.
  • Hamburgers or Hotdogs — if you had to choose just one, which would it be?  Student-reporters Josue C. and Nick S. “battle it out” in our newest WOLF-TV segment:  VERSUS!   And YOU get to choose the winner.  So sidle up to the barbecue, Williamsburg, and let’s get it on!
  • The Hamburgers-vs.-Hotdogs survey is now OPEN!  So once again, just go to the Morning Announcements Blog on the WMS Website and cast your vote for the best barbecue for you.  We’ll have the results next week.  It’s making me hungry just thinking about it!!
