The APS Community Coding Event for 2018 will be held on Monday, December 17th from 6:30 – 8pm at the Arlington Career Center. The purpose of this event is to offer students a chance to celebrate the Hour of Code™ in addition to any activities which may be taking place during the school day. It is intended for all APS students in grades K-12 and their families.
Several types of coding activities will be offered depending on the participant’s age/grade level. The sessions are run by APS staff and community volunteers, including several local organizations. Here are just some of the activity sessions being offered:
- Scratch Jr. and Scratch
- Mbot, Vex, and Evo Robotics
- Swift Playgrounds
- Raspberry Pi
- HTML Web Design
Some of our community volunteers include PBSKids, Accenture, Boolean Girls, and NOVA SySTEMic.
There is nothing that you need to do to prepare for the event. Students can choose which activity they would like to participate in according to their interests.
