- The 8th grade Writing SOLs are ALMOST over. There will be another round of make-up testing TODAY in the library beginning at 8:30 a.m. — which is after the extended TA. Test-takers are reminded to bring ONLY your fully-charged iPad — no backpacks, pens nor pencils, water, snacks, nor any other electronic devices. See Ms. Cameron or your school counselor with any questions. Good luck on the SOL, 8th graders!
. - As for everyone else, it’s business as usual — Wolf Time followed by your regular schedule. However, students are reminded to please be considerate and QUIET when walking past the Library today — so as not to disrupt the test-takers.
. - DONUTS ARE BACK!!! The Williamsburg PTA has extended its fundraising campaign for one more week. And here’s how you students can help — TELL YOUR PARENTS TO DONATE!! For every 10-dollars your parents donate to the WMS PTA this week, you’ll get an entry into a drawing to win donuts for your entire TA! KIDS LOVE DONUTS! So please tell your parents to donate TODAY!
. - LAST CALL for the upcoming APS “Color of Leadership Boys & Girls Conference — This is Me!” — scheduled for this SATURDAY from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School. If you’d like to participate in this exclusive program, you MUST sign-up TODAY. See Ms. Cameron or go to the main office for more information.
. - Hey, 7th grade — How would YOU like to be on the Yearbook Staff next year? Then you need to act fast! The application deadline is April 1st — and that’s NO JOKE. This select group of students meet during TA and Wolf Time all year long — taking pictures, learning graphic design, and creating a keepsake for the ages. And while it’s NOT a class for a grade, it’s still a highly rewarding club and resume booster. Just swing by room 137 for more information and to get an application from Ms. Kontos. The WMS Yearbook — Be a Part of the Pride!!
. - Stop the presses!! We’ve got BIG NEWS for all you 7th graders who’d like to be a part of WOLF-TV next year. The 8th grade Journalism elective is adding a SECOND section for the 2019-2020 school year. You’ll learn all about television production, running the Morning Announcements, and creating your own series of original segments — like GameSharkey Echo, Girl Talk, and Mediocre Media. See Mr. Schonfeld in the library classroom for more information — or talk to your counselor to sign-up.
. - And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
