- We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The Williamsburg Concert Orchestra performed at the District Orchestra Assessment on Saturday — and they absolutely ROCKED — receiving the highest possible rating of SUPERIOR from all four judges. Plus, they even earned A’s in all subcategories for their stage performance. It was a stellar representation of the WMS Music Department. Congratulations to all of our performers. Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
. - The 3rd annual WMS March Madness Tournament of Books has arrived! Sixteen of your favorite books are going head-to-head — and YOU get to vote on the best-of-the-best. All this week — your TA, Wolf Time, or even your classes can work together to fill out a bracket. Then starting on March 11th, you can go online and vote!
.
Will Mr. Feeney’s TA defend their title as reigning champs? Will Maze Runner — ranked #1 — make it all the way to the championship… or will a Cinderella story emerge? Good luck, wolves, and may the best book — and TA — win!
. - Up next, it’s time for the monthly Wolves with Character award! Just take a look at the screen to see all the deserving honorees from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades — all of whom were chosen by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding HONESTY in their daily lives. All of this month’s honorees are invited to pick up their free pizza — this WEDNESDAY at the table outside of the cafeteria. Way to go, Wolves with Character!! [clap]
. - And now for a special announcement for all 8th graders who will be attending either ARLINGTON TECH or the Washington-and-Lee IB program next year. Representatives from both programs will be hosting informational sessions TODAY in the cafeteria — Arlington Tech during 2nd period, and W-and-L during 3rd period. Participants should receive their passes during TA. Just be sure to check in with your 2nd or 3rd period teachers first — and then head straight to the cafeteria for the meeting. See your grade-level counselor with any questions.
. - The WMS Kindness Club will be meeting TODAY in room 201 during ASP1. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you’ve never been before. There is a lot to work on for the March campaign, and it’s going to be great FUN! Any questions? Please see Ms. Schaefer, Ms. Zeller or Mr. Johnson.
. - It’s nearly time once again for Parent-Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held “Arena style” this THURSDAY afternoon from 4:30 – 7:30 PM, and on FRIDAY morning from 7:30 to 11:30 AM. Tell your parents that they can meet with ONE or ALL of your classroom teachers. No appointments are necessary, but meetings are limited to 5 minutes each. Parents and teachers together — what could be better than that?!
. - On your marks, get set, GO!! How would YOU like to be a part of the 2-time defending champion middle school track team??? Interested athletes are invited to an informational meeting for the WMS Track Team — next MONDAY, March 11th, during ASP 1 in the main gym. Meet the coach, some returning runners, and learn everything you need to know before tryouts begin on March 18th. Attendance is not mandatory — but it is HIGHLY recommended. See Mr. Treble with any questions.
. - All middle schoolers are invited to the upcoming APS “Color of Leadership Boys & Girls Conference — This is Me!” — scheduled for SATURDAY, March 30th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School.
