  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Calling all actors, singers, dancers, backstage, and technical crew! The interest meeting for the WMS Spring Musical — “Descendants, Junior” — has been rescheduled for TODAY during ASP 1 in the Auditorium.  Learn all about the play, how to audition, and the various roles both on-stage and behind-the-scenes.  Once again, the “Descendants, Junior” interest meeting is TODAY.  Contact Ms. Mac or Ms. McTavish with any questions.
    .
  • Did you miss School Picture Day in October? Or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck!  Because “Picture Make-Up Day” is scheduled for this FRIDAY in the Auxiliary Gym for all students and staff.  Students retaking their portrait will not receive a new ID card unless there was a mistake on the original.  And if you’ve already purchased a photo package, you must return the original before getting a retake. See Dr. Koval with any questions. And say cheese!
    .
  • Get ready for a book bonanza!! The PTA Scholastic Book Fair is coming to WMS — starting next  TUESDAY in the WMS Library.  Students will be visiting the Fair with their English and Reading classes, but you may also go before TA, during lunch, and after school on most days. The Book Fair will also be open in the evening before-and-after the Winter Concerts.  See our school librarians for more information. And thanks for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair!!
    .
  • Calling all athletes!  If you plan on participating in wrestling or Boys Basketball this winter, you MUST submit your sports physical by FRIDAY, December 20th.  Please place all forms in the yellow mailbox outside of the Activities Office.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
    .
  • Attention all fans of high school sports!!  Throughout the year, Yorktown High School will be hosting numerous games and tournaments after school. But unless you’re a member of the team, you MUST be escorted by a parent or responsible adult.  Otherwise, you will NOT be allowed inside.  This policy goes for all APS schools.  Once again, you must have an adult present to attend high school sports.
    .
  • And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic!  It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE!  First — WASH YOUR HANDS!!  Second — Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  And third — if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME.  Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread.  See our school nurse with any questions.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS girls’s basketball team improved to a perfect 6 wins and no losses after defeating Dorothy Hamm Middle School on Tuesday — 48 to 12.
    .
Big props to the leading scorers, Sydney and Tabitha, and to the entire team for their dominant play on offense and defense.  Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]
